Afghanistans Independent Election Commission (IEC) has decided to hold the upcoming four elections without using a biometric system for voters identification.
The presidential elections, provincial council and district council elections, and Ghazni parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held on September 28.
Ariana News obtained a document which shows that the IEC has decided not to use the biometric system in the upcoming elections.
Earlier, IEC said that all ten fingers of the voters will be scanned in the biometric devices for recognizing the voters identity.
However, electoral experts said that the biometric devices which were used in 2018 parliamentary elections have not the ability to differentiate between two peoples fingerprints at the same time.
This comes as the final result of Afghan parliamentary elections delayed for nearly seven months after problems raised in using a biometric system and finalizing results of the parliamentary elections.
President Ashraf Ghani described the countrys parliamentary election a disaster, saying it was unprecedented in the history of democratic systems.
